As protests against the illegal process of awarding the Pataveh to Dehdasht road project, including the construction of underpasses and overpasses at the Dehdasht–Sook intersection in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, continue, a media activist named Salman Tofighian has been arrested due to his revelations in this regard, under pressure and influence from Mohammad Mohammadi, the representative of this region in parliament.
Financial and Political Violations
In recent months, Tofighian has exposed the violations and corruption prevailing in the province by preparing field reports and holding meetings with local elders. The main focus of his protests has been the awarding of the Pataveh to Dehdasht road project, which protesters claim was awarded to an individual named Ehsani as a contractor, worth 1164 billion tomans, without a tender and illegally.
Public opinion holds Mohammad Mohammadi responsible for receiving amounts in the form of gold coins through his wife in exchange for awarding this contract. Local sources report that between 100 to 200 coins were paid as bribes to Mohammadi and his circle of affiliated managers.
Media Silence and Continued Protests
Fidous has previously addressed Mohammadi's influence in large construction and energy projects, and his name has emerged as a key player in introducing contractors related to himself. Meanwhile, public protests against this contract and other financial corruptions continue, and further revelations are expected in the future.
