In a worrying news from Iran's petrochemical industry, the Deputy Minister of Oil has announced that exports in the first 8 months of the current year have encountered a decrease of 200 million dollars. This statistic is not only a cause for concern but also indicates more serious consequences in the future.
Major Challenges in the Petrochemical Industry
The decrease in exports, along with the non-return of the foreign currency obtained from it due to sanctions and additional discounts to circumvent these sanctions, could raise the level of losses significantly higher than the current figure. Experts have estimated that, considering the cut and limitation of gas to more than 10 petrochemical plants, the value of Iran's exports may decrease to over one billion dollars by the end of the current year.
This statistic can be seen as a wake-up call for the most important manufacturing sector in the country and may double the concerns among economic activists and industrialists.
