Hunger Strike of Novid Zar Chemical Workers: Threats and Intimidation Instead of Accountability

The hunger strike of Novid Zar Chemical workers has faced security threats from management on its tenth day. The workers emphasize their legal rights.

The hunger strike of the workers at Novid Zar Chemical Company enters its tenth day, while instead of addressing their professional demands, security and managerial pressures against their representatives have significantly increased. In this context, the head of security at the company, in coordination with the prosecutor of Imam Khomeini Port, has threatened the workers' representative, warning that if the strike continues, they will face dismissal and legal actions.

Protest Against Delayed Wages and Benefits

This strike has emerged in response to low wages, unpaid benefits, and worsening living conditions. However, so far, the authorities in Mahshahr County have ignored these issues. The protesting workers have clearly stated that their only goal is to improve living conditions and ensure timely payment of wages and benefits.

Nevertheless, instead of responding to these legal demands, individuals such as Ali-Asghar Hamidi (the main owner of the company), Abbas Abdali (the head of the complex), Aziz Abbasi (the operations manager), and Nader Azadnia (the head of security) have resorted to threats and intimidation. This situation poses serious risks for the future of the strike and the livelihoods of the workers.

As the workers continue their protests legally and professionally, the indifference of the authorities and security confrontations have brought the situation to a concerning level.
