Oil Pensioners, Victims of the Power Struggle

In the clash between power factions, oil and petrochemical retirees have become the main victims, while corruption remains entrenched.

At the forefront of the victims of this widespread appropriation, oil pensioners as major shareholders of the holding are only part of the equation. Thousands of workers and employees of subsidiary companies and millions of Iranian citizens in various provinces are also affected by the consequences of this conflict. Consequences that come at the cost of environmental destruction, water and soil degradation, and depletion of natural resources, with the benefits primarily going into the pockets of cartels and industry mafias.

Key Figures in the Center of the Conflict

In the recent struggle over the management of the holding, two figures are clearly visible, each in some way inheriting part of the structural corruption within this organization. Hassan Neshanzadeh, who considers himself a fund manager and stage setter for the petrochemical industry in favor of specific factions, and Mahmoud Aminnejad, who claims to be close to the office of a political figure and still asserts that the management chair of the Ministry of Oil is his right.

Both figures have a history of involvement in Bidboland Gas Company and connections to several multi-million euro corruption cases. Additionally, their roles in the planning and projects of the Persian Gulf holding, which is recognized as one of the main havens of corruption in the petrochemical industry, are other commonalities between them.

Warnings About the Future of the Holding

Critics warn that the history of collusion with contractors and familial dealings in corruption, even if currently facing security leniency, is so clear that the presence of these two in the current management chairs does not paint a picture other than deepening the crisis and further ruin for the Persian Gulf holding.

The continuation of this situation not only harms oil pensioners and petrochemical workers but also generally jeopardizes the health and economic future of the country.
