At Tandgoyan Petrochemical, the uncertainty of local day laborers has led to their exploitation and abuse. This situation, which began in the mid-2010s, has become a serious problem due to a shortage of staff at this petrochemical plant.
Worrisome Situation of Workers
Although in some units like services and PIVY, day laborers have been included in the organizational chart, in the maintenance unit, these individuals remain in a state of uncertainty. The former CEO, Ghasemi, did not take any effective measures to organize these workers.
Statistics show that in each shift at Tandgoyan Petrochemical, the number of personnel in the maintenance chart has dropped below 30 percent. This reduction in staff has been compensated by replacing day laborers. These workers, who receive wages equivalent to one-third of the personnel in the third-party chart, lack a defined work pattern and endure harsher conditions.
Managers at Tandgoyan Petrochemical, especially in recent years, have focused on hiring non-local workers without following legal procedures instead of respecting the rights of local workers. In this situation, the fear of potential dismissal has caused day laborers to silently accept this status quo, leading to daily violations of their rights.
This situation has caused deep dissatisfaction among local and day laborers, who feel that their voices are not heard and that no one pays attention to their problems.
