The fourteenth government, with a contentious decision, has decided to transfer 17.9% of the shares of the large Star of the Persian Gulf refinery. This action comes as these shares belong to the Refining and Distribution Company and are set to be offered to the market under the pretext of privatization.
Details of the Star of the Persian Gulf Refinery
The Star of the Persian Gulf refinery is one of the largest and most important refineries in the country, with a daily production capacity of about 40 million liters of gasoline and 11 million liters of diesel. Currently, 51% of the shares of this refinery are held by the Ministry of Oil, while the remaining 49% belongs to the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare.
