Widespread Corruption in Arvand Petrochemical: From Family Lobbying to Bribery of Senior Managers

Financial corruption and family patronage have permeated all management layers of Arvand Petrochemical. From suspicious purchases to behind-the-scenes lobbying, the company faces serious challenges.

Widespread Corruption in Arvand Petrochemical: From Family Lobbying to Bribery of Senior Managers

The extent of violations in Arvand Petrochemical has encompassed many layers of management and various departments of this company. Informed sources within the company have sent documents to Feydus revealing that Malekhossein Abdovand, head of the maintenance unit, established a company in the name of his wife, Parisa Kiani, who is related to Afshin Kiani, CEO of Karun Petrochemical, and all related purchases are made through this company.

Promotion Through Family Patronage

Pardis Kiani, Abdovand's sister-in-law, was also recently promoted in the finance department by the order of Yadollah Mosaddeghi Fard. This individual's background shows that she worked in the laboratory and was employed through the family patronage of Afshin Kiani and the direct recommendation of Mosaddeghi Fard, receiving direct support from Amin Dehghani, the finance manager.

Lobbying for Boiler and Power Plant Purchases

Another part of the corruption cases involves a person named Hossein Rafizadeh, the capital projects manager of Karun Petrochemical, who, with the support of Mosaddeghi Fard, has been actively involved in purchasing boilers and power plants in Arvand. Mosaddeghi Fard's repeated bribes to ministry officials also indicate that this manager, aware of his violations being exposed, is trying to secure special immunity for himself by paying sums of money. For example, the purchase of three new cars and their delivery to Kasra Nouri, the then head of the Minister of Oil's office, and the delivery of 8 to 10 cars to the managers of the Persian Gulf Holding are included in this list.

Purchase of Luxury Cars and Lavish Office Renovations

Recently, three new RAV4 vehicles have been purchased with company resources, two of which are in his possession, and the fate of previously acquired vehicles is unknown.

Continuous lavish office renovations for individuals like Rafizadeh and Mosaddeghi, each having three offices in Tehran and the site, with renovation costs amounting to billions of tomans, is against the cost limitation resolution in the Persian Gulf Holding.

Among Mosaddeghi Fard's strange actions is the demolition of the company's amphitheater and its conversion for use by some board members' offices at a cost of several billion tomans. Meanwhile, the company's workers' salaries face delays under the pretext of budget shortages.

Suspicious Assets and Properties

The assets under Mosaddeghi Fard's control, which sources close to him attribute to financial resources obtained through corruption during his management at Amir Kabir Petrochemical, need to be evaluated by regulatory bodies. Two units in Tehran and a building in Shiraz, valued at over 70 billion tomans at the time of purchase, are included.

A manager with a history in various petrochemical companies, leaving behind nothing but corruption and losses each time, is now trying to extend his management tenure and personal gain from projects and contracts by continuously bribing and lobbying with senior managers.
