According to Energy Press, Arman Khaleghi, in an interview with ISNA, examined the current state of power supply to industries and stated that currently, the power supply restriction for industrial units has been reduced to two days a week. He predicted that this restriction, similar to last year, might extend to the evening to midnight period.
Proposal to Substitute Holidays
Khaleghi added that in recent months, industries and the House of Industry, Mining, and Trade (IMT) had proposed that holidays be substituted with industry blackout days due to power imbalance. However, no measures have been considered in this regard so far, and no action has been taken to implement it.
Details of the Proposed Plan
The Secretary-General of the House of IMT explained that according to this plan, it was proposed that industry blackout days be considered as holidays for production units. In return, the possibility of operating on the substitute holiday, including Friday, without incurring additional costs due to overtime pay and wages, would be provided. The aim of this action is to mitigate part of the accumulated losses of industries due to power restrictions and maintain the productivity of production units. However, this proposal has not yet been implemented.
Follow-ups Conducted
Khaleghi clarified that this proposal has been presented at various stages to the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Facilitation Headquarters, and other relevant bodies, but no specific result has been achieved to date. He added that they are trying to pursue this issue through negotiations with the Presidency. Fortunately, in previous correspondences and follow-ups, there has been positive cooperation and follow-up regarding the previous proposal.
