Denial of Gasoline Price Increase
While according to previous resolutions, the third-rate gasoline price should increase every three months, the government spokesperson reacted to the rumors about implementing a 10,000 Toman gasoline price. He denied this news and announced that the government currently has no plans to increase gasoline prices or implement a third rate. He emphasized that if there is any plan in this regard, the issue will be transparently communicated to the public.
New CNG Station Initiative
Simultaneously with these statements, the government announced a new initiative where more than a thousand CNG stations across the country, from the first of Mordad until further notice, will voluntarily and at the expense of station owners and operators, provide compressed natural gas for free to vehicles. According to this plan, any citizen who visits the participating stations with their dual-fuel vehicle can receive the CNG they need without paying any fee.
Objectives and Analyses
This action is presented as a completely voluntary decision by CNG station owners and operators, aimed at helping people in the current economic conditions, fulfilling social responsibility, and also aligning with the country's fuel consumption management programs. Although the government claims the initiative is voluntary by the station owners, analysts believe this policy is an effort to encourage the use of gas in public transportation. This action could help reduce the psychological burden on society in case of a potential gasoline price increase in the coming days.
